While the exact date for IBPS Clerk CWE 2013 has not been announced yet, it is tentatively set for December, 2012. What is also known is the fact that this time around, the exam will be conducted online.

Thus, this year, you will not be marking your answers on the OMR sheet with a pencil or a pen. Instead, you will be clicking the answers on a computer screen. The format of IBPS Clerk CWE has remained the same though. There will be 5 sections, with each section of 50 marks each.

  • Logical reasoning
  • English language
  • Computer skills
  • General awareness
The test going online may seem like a very small change. However, it does impact your test taking strategy in a way. If you are a banking aspirant sitting for the exam, here are a few tips to help you prepare for IBPS Clerk CWE 2013, and hopefully, crack it too:

Practice taking the test online

Taking the test on a computer has a psychological impact. It has a physiological impact too. You will be sitting in front a screen for more than 2 hours. Thus, you are more prone to eye fatigue. If you do not have requisite practice, the physiological and psychological factors can become your undoing. In order to be better prepared for it, practice taking the tests on a computer screen. Most coaching centers would have test material in a CD format, which you can take home and practice.

Ace the computer section

Just like previous years, the computer section is the highest scoring section out of all the five sections. The questions asked are mostly basic in nature. Make sure you maximize your score in computers. Read up on the basics of the subject, both, software as well as hardware.

Practice reading on the screen

Based on experience of candidates in other online tests, the most difficult aspect of a computer based test is reading comprehension. For many people, reading on the screen does not come easy. It is important to focus if you wish to crack the English section in the exam. Read as much as possible on the screen to get yourself acquainted with the habit before the exam.

Practice taking short breaks

When you are attempting an exam on a computer screen, taking short breaks is important to avoid loss of concentration and fatigue. Taking breaks does not mean getting up every now and then. Just look away from a screen for a few moments, relax, and get back to the test quickly. Of course, it is easier said than done. That’s why, you need practice.
While all those tips will come in handy for IBPS Clerk CWE online test, here is the most important tip of all- do not panic. The test has only gone online. The rest is pretty much the same.
