About Employer: South Malabar Gramin Bank is a Scheduled Commercial Bank, sponsored by Canara Bank and established in 1976. It’s headquarter is in Kerala at Malappuramin and it is the largest among the RRBs in India. The operational work is limited to the 8 districts of Kerala. Its work is to give financial assistance to the sectors of farm and non-farm and the other programs of employment generation through its various branches. It has been rated as one of the largest micro credit institution. Recruitment details: South Malabar Gramin Bank has announced the vacancy and invited application for the post of Office Assistants (Multipurpose), Officer Middle Management Scale II and Officer junior management (Scale I)  from the Indian nationals on the basis of common written Examination conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for the RRBs in September 2012 who has qualified the exam.
  
There are total numbers of 256 vacancies. The vacancies are divided among various posts among the reserved and unreserved categories. The pay scale is different for the various posts and the emoluments are associated with it.
  

Who can apply ?

The age limit defined for the post for officer scale I is below 28 years and age for office assistant (multipurpose) is between 18 years to 28 years.

The age limit for officer middle management scale II is 18 - 32 years.
 
The age relaxation given to the reserved category and OBC is 5 and 3 years.
   
Office Assistant & Officer Junior Management Scale I: The educational qualification required for Office Assistant (multipurpose) and officer junior management (scale I) is that the candidate must have the graduate degree from any recognized university and must be proficient in the local language.

Officer Scale-II: Degree its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 2 years as an Officer in Bank or Financial Institution as on 01.06.2012.
  
A part from that the candidate must be an Indian national or a citizen of Bhutan, Nepal or a refugee of Tibet.

Selection procedure

The selection criteria will depend on the common written exam which has been conducted by IBPS in the month of September 2012 for RRBs and the personal interview. The merit list of which will be prepared on the basis Total Weighted Standard Scores (TWSS) obtained by them in the exam and the performance of interview under the reserved, unreserved and OBC categories. For the personal interview, the call will be given by the bank for those candidates who have applied in the bank. The interview will carry the total 30 marks. For the final selection, the candidates have to perform well in the interview also.

How to Apply ?

The applicants have to apply online for the required posts in the bank through the website www.smgbank.com. Any other means of application submission will not be accepted. The online registration will commence from 17-07-2013 and will last on 27-07-2013. The application fee for the Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and officer junior management (Scale I) is Rs.100 (unreserved) and Rs. 20(reserved) respectively. The challan can be obtained from the site and have to be submitted to any of the branches of the South Malabar Gramin Bank or Canara Bank only from 11-07-2012 to 27-07-2013.
